Lewis Hamilton, move over. Each year students show their best in zero-emissions races, supported by Umicore. With Powered by Umicore, they wanted to increase their brand awareness among young engineers by putting the programme in the - ecologically responsible - spotlight. Also, they wanted to increase global awareness on Umicore's great clean mobility efforts.

What we did
So we pressed the power button by providing three student teams with an iPad linked to a Flickr account. With it, the teams were invited to document their progress prepping their cars before, during and after races, keeping the world (and us) up to date. The raw materials where collected into a Flickr account, giving us a treasure trove of content for the Powered by Umicore Facebook page.
Next step? We hired a professional cameraman and director to create individual movies of the teams. We also created illustrated graphics.
The result? We doubled the amount of Facebook fans and raised a bunch of awareness on Umicore's clean mobility intentions.
